#AloneTogether: creative ways to stay together, even from afar

As thousands of older and younger people across the country and the world come to terms with the fact that we can’t physically be together for a while, at The Cares Family we’ve been working tirelessly to find new ways to help neighbours stay connected in a disconnecting time.
So today we’re launching #AloneTogether – activities for every day during the Covid-19 lockdown that anyone, regardless of their age or where they live, can take part in from home.

These activities have been created by older and younger neighbours across The Cares Family's communities and in partnership with our staff teams. They include ideas for how people can continue to be creative together, think of one another, and laugh – even in times of challenge and even from afar.
They're inspired by over 500,000 interactions and 100,000 hours that 18,000 older and younger neighbours have shared through The Cares Family over nine years – at over 4,000 social clubs and through 30,000 hours of one-to-one time.
We hope that older and younger neighbours alike will be comforted knowing that their friends across London, Liverpool, Manchester and the world are also sitting down each day to take a moment to be playful and creative.
But #AloneTogether is bigger than us. This is for everyone.
So please do share the monthly toolkits widely – among colleagues, community partners, key workers, friends, neighbours, grandparents and housemates. Just about anyone who you think of could benefit from a daily distraction during these difficult days, a sense of joy, and a feeling of togetherness at a difficult time.
We’d love to see what you create each day, so please stay in touch and share your daily creations by tweeting @TheCaresFamily with the hashtag #AloneTogether.
